Lt. Edwin Leroy Gorbet Memorial Dedication

A memorial at Bay Memorial Park in Panama City honors 2nd Lieutenant Edwin Leroy Gorbet, who died in the crash of his F-86D Sabre on Sept. 28, 1953. Gorbet had seven seconds to eject and parachute to safetly, but guided the jet away from Jinks Junior High School before the craft exploded in mid-air.
