This is the second of two volumes for students preparing for the Institute of Legal Executives Part One examinations. It covers the four subjects included in the syllabus for Year Tow: Contract and Consumer Law, Employment Law, Family Law and Wills, Probate and Succession. In addition to satisfying the requirements of the Institute's syllabus, this book will help the student understand how the law works in practice. Frequent references are made to significant cases, which are all fully explained. The book also contains examples of statutes and law reports to enable the student to gain familiarity with the 'raw material' of law. The authors use diagrams to illustrate complext points and include sample questions based on the style of the Institute's examinations to indicate the type of problems that students may have to face. Guidance is given as to how these questions should be tackled in an exam situation so that obvious mistakes may be avoided. This fifth edition has been fully updated to include the National Minimum Wage Act 1998; the Employment Relations Act 1999 and the Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999 together with appropriate cases; the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999; the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999; and recent cases.
