The Teaching of Arithmetic

This work has been prepared with a view to the needs of those who are giving instruction or supervising the work in arithmetic in the elementary schools. If this volume serves to make arithmetic more interesting to teacher and pupil, to make it touch more clearly the vital questions of daily live, to point out a line of work that is free from eccentricities, and to present a broad view of the subject, then the ambitions of the author will have been realized.
