A Gothic mystery set in romantic Cornwall... Sixteen years ago Sir Henry Care's first wife Deborah fell from the tower on the decaying family estate, Naneslow. At the time, it was assumed to be an accident, but now her daughter Laura, who dabbles in the occult, claims that Deborah's death was not an accident, that it was in fact Nancy - Sir Henry's second wife - who pushed Deborah over the parapet. Laura is a dangerous woman who derives enormous satisfaction from sowing the seeds of discord and fear.
