"In an investigation into the manner in which ghosts are produced Mr. Lethbridge found that phenomena appear to be related to fields of force of certain kinds and this led him to an attempted study by the methods employed by diviners. The results have surprised him, for it soon became clear that he was not dealing with nebulous magical phenomena, but with a subject which had laws of its own and in which experiments could be repeated again and again: a scientific study. Some of the most curious results came from an examination of the shape of the fields of force. The pendulum can easily be shown to provide an alternative method of analysis. It can also be used for determining the nature of objects hidden from sight either beneath the ground, beyond stone walls or shut up in boxes. Mr. Lethbridge believes that divination is only an indicator to the knowledge possessed by everybody, and contained in our own electro-magnetic fields."--front flap.
