There are times when multiple projects are undertaken simultaneously. The disadvantage of some methods for managing multiple projects have been a loss of individual integrity for each project, and the total number of projects must be limited. A new method for a portfolio of projects was developed to handle an unlimited number of projects, to operate within the network models if desired, and allow flexibility to accommodate change all the while maintaining the individuality of each project. The new balancing method uses an algorithm of indices, and an initial and balanced scheduling system, in order to balance the variables to obtain the best results. This method was tested by the GAUSS software, developed specifically for the balancing method.
