Arctic System Science

Considers key issues which define role of ocean-atmosphere-ice system in larger context of global change, identifying research themes that would contribute to Arctic System Science (ARCSS) programme as element of US National Science Foundation's Global Geosciences Initiative. Part 1 of report sets out executive summary, findings, recommendations and research priorities. Part 2 includes four papers on particular topics, which were drafted prior to workshop and served as point of departure for working group sessions: circulation of Arctic Ocean, global change and cycling of biogenic material in ocean, global-Arctic interactions, and productivity on Arctic and response to global change.
