Handling Medication in Social Care Settings

This resource pack has been designed to support trainers to develop their own training programmes on managing medication in a social care setting. It is one of three publications (ISBNs 0117021660, 0117021679, 0117021652) produced as the result of a DH supported project led by ARC. The project involved people who use services, pharmacists, nursing professionals, regulators, and service providers. Any of the three documents will enable those who complete the training to learn all the essential basic knowledge needed by staff in this area. This resource pack is mapped against the relevant current National Occupational Standards for Health and Social Care, and to the General Social Care Council's codes of practice, and also links directly to the learning outcomes of the Knowledge and Skills Set introduced by Skills for Care, the sector skills council for social care.
